Dr. Islam has 35 years of experience as a family Physician/GP, and is a fully qualified and trained Australian general practitioner. He is both a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Fellow of the College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in Bangladesh and moved to South Africa to further develop and enhance his medical skills. After this, Dr. Islam relocated to Australia with his young family and worked in various rural and remote locations before starting his family medicine practice in Berwick.
Dr. Islam also obtained his diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery. He has special training in minor surgeries with a focus in Circumcision and Vasectomy. Doing complex skin cancer surgeries is part of his daily routine procedures.
He also looks after minor trauma, acute medicine, and nursing home residents in aged care facilities, as well as his family medicine practice. He is involved in teaching 4th year & 1st year medical students from the Monash University Medical school.
Dr. Islam is also a supervisor and mentor for the general practice register placement program run by the EVGP (Department of Health) training program in Victoria.
Dr. Islam has six fully qualified family physicians, two qualified experienced nurses and a group of very friendly highly skilled staff to help him run his clinic.
Dr. Ali has joined Dr. Islam as an Associate at Gentle Procedures Melbourne, bringing a vast experience in surgery and in general practice.
After completing his medical degree, Dr. Ali undertook specialist surgical training in Ireland and has been awarded as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.
Dr. Ali moved to Australia, trained as a General Practitioner, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr. Ali has continued to advance his surgical training and experience by combining his initial training as a general surgeon and the patented Pollock Technique from Vancouver, Canada to deliver excellent outcomes in circumcision.
